Delete Your Data

You can delete specific types of data from your Kouple account at any time - without closing your account. This page explains what data you can delete, how to do it, and what data may be retained and why.

Delete Data Directly in the App
Most data can be deleted instantly from within the Kouple app. Here is what you can remove and how:

Submit a Data Deletion Request
If you want us to delete specific data that is not accessible from within the app, or if you would like confirmation that data has been removed, use our contact form (select Delete My Data Request) or email us directly:

Please include your registered email address and describe the specific data you want removed. We will respond within 3 business days.
What Gets Deleted
Upon a successful deletion request, the following data types are permanently removed from our systems and backups within 30 days:
- The specific content you requested (photos, letters, location history, etc.)
- Cached copies of that content on our CDN
- Any backups containing that data (backups are rotated within 30 days)
What May Be Retained
Even after a data deletion request, a limited subset of data may be kept:
- Aggregated, anonymised analytics - statistical records with no personal identifiers, retained indefinitely for product improvement. These cannot be linked back to you.
- Transaction records - purchase history and billing records required for legal and financial compliance, retained for up to 7 years.
- Safety and abuse records - if the data is relevant to an active safety investigation, it may be retained for up to 2 years to prevent misuse and protect other users.
- Legal hold data - if we are subject to a legal obligation requiring preservation of certain data, that data will be retained only for as long as the obligation exists.
Your Account Remains Active
Deleting specific data does not close your Kouple account. Your account, partner connection, subscription, and all other data not covered by the request will remain intact.
